Tomorrow I close the book on my 2008-2009 year and a half in Vermont. The coming year holds two long-distance hiking trails, and too many uncertainties to list.
There’s no better place to sort out one’s direction in life than on the trail, which is where I will be from September 26 until October 30. The New England Trail will be the fulfillment of two years’ ambition, a chance to do something original, an escape, and a rediscovery of life. When I get back from the trip, I’ll tell you all about it. In the meantime, if you’re interested, here are some links about the trail.
This Blog’s first mention of the trail
My Trailjournals page: Eventually this will include a day-by-day account of the trek. For now it has lots of stuff about the preparations.
Paul Gagnon’s New England Trail page: This is a major resource with information on the natural wonders this trail holds, and possibilities for the future.
I will have no internet access for the entire time that I’m on the trail, but feel free to check in, leave a message, or wait for updates. Once I’m back, I’ll have pictures, thoughts, and reports.
