  1. I’m always surprised to see a swiss army knife, which has the capacity to malfuncion during use for some survival tasks, in lieu of a compact and lightweight fixed blade knife.

    • I think you might have the wrong impression of what the knife is used for. This is the tiny Swiss Army knife, with a 1.5″ blade, scissors, and tweezers. Not intended or used for survival purposes. I use it for cutting bandages, opening packages, trimming fingernails… Lots of light duty stuff. I’m not a survivalist, and in 7000+ miles of backpacking I’ve never had a need for a larger or tougher blade.
