It’s been a long summer, and the hectic part isn’t over yet, but I’m done with the part that keeps me away from the blog. So here it is: I’m back!
From the middle of June through the middle of August I spent my time as a summer camp counselor, something which I already suspected I am far too old and crotchety to do. But the camp program that I was in charge of was a wilderness expedition course that would include several multi-day backpacking and canoeing trips, so it seemed like a good fit. Seemed… There were indeed some good times and some good opportunities, as well as some frustrating and aggravating times. That will happen when working with fourteen year-old kids. It was a good experience in many ways, but I’m glad it’s done. Now I can get back to some semblance of a normal life (normal for me, at least).
In the next few weeks I’ll be trying to post more regularly, but I’m in the middle of moving to Southern New Hampshire, finding a job, and starting to live with my girlfriend. Huge life changes. More on that later.
