  1. What a great hike the Moriah Brook Trail is. I had just completed it before we met at Imp earlier this summer. I loved the frequent water crossings and cascades along the way. The following day instead of taking the AT to Gorham I continued on the Kenduskeag. This trail offers frequent views of the Wild River Valley, the Carter Ridge, and Presidentials. It must be stunning in the fall. The trail is overgrown in many places but easy enough to follow and well worth the effort.
A few weeks ago I hiked the Black Angel from Carter Dome, wow, what a fantastic trail! The rock strewn water crossings reminded me of Moriah Brook but I thought it had a more wild feel. Moriah was scenic and inviting, Black Angel was tolerant at best.

    • Hey Bruce. I’m glad I ran into you at Imp last summer, and I had forgotten that you’d come across the Wild River Wilderness to get there. Now that I’m living closer to the Wild, I think I’ll be spending a lot more time there than before. It really is one of the best parts of the WMNF. So remote, so gorgeous, and so much to explore! Maybe I’ll see you out there again!
